In September I started the 8 week beginners course. I'd always been rubbish at running and it was definitely 'not my thing'

I decided to try running to help with my mental health as I struggled with crippling anxiety. Never did I ever dream I'd manage 5km, let alone 10km within 3 months of starting with Coulsdon Runners.

I'm so grateful I found such a wonderful group. Louise is inspirational, supportive and always smiling.

Couldn't run for a bus or walk upstairs without getting out of breath, didn't think I'd ever be able to run 5km and now I can do 10km!

More importantly I now know I can push myself to try new things and have made some amazing new friends through Coulsdon Runners.

Running had been my nemesis since school, always last in in athletics.

Roll on 20+ years I knew I needed to do some exercise, but hard to find classes to fit around the kids & hubby. I saw Louise's facebook advert 2 years ago to 'teach me to run' and the rest is history !

I STILL don't know how her program works, but if you stick to her instructions I PROMISE you it does.

I'm still overweight,and not fast, but I can now run over an hour without stopping. I'm healthier and have found a way to have headspace away from my young family - especially useful during lockdown, and met some wonderful friends.
